A Registered Agent is an individual (partner or any other person, whether or not affiliated with the partnership) who resides in California or a corporation designated by the Secretary of State to accept service of process for a Corporation, Limited Liability Company, Limited Partnership, and other entities filed with the Secretary of State, to accept service of process if the partnership is sued. Virtually all states require corporations and LLCs to appoint a registered agent in the state where the company if formed. The company name you submit for registered agent services from California's Best Incorporating Service, Inc. must be identical to the name that appears on your company's state-approved formation or foreign qualification documents in order for California's Best Incorporating Service, Inc. to be the registered agent.
